Glamour on a Friday
I'm going to my best friend's birthday party tonight, and the rest of the weekend I'll spend relaxing, getting some work done and exercising. The pictures below are my inspiration for this weekend. It's still far too cold to wear only a skirt and a bra like in the first picture (outside it's snowing now) but I really like the lady's hair, and why not begin looking forward to the spring now (even though the snow wont be gone before April)? I wish you all a lovely weekend!

Trains
Old trains really fascinate me; I don't know whether it's because of the beauty and majestic impression of the train or the style and elegance of the people who traveled by train, back then when traveling was something really special. I love seeing people on trains in old films or period movies and I love photos of people waiting for the train in a beautiful waiting hall or people standing on the platform saying goodbye to friends. Thus I was really excited when I saw these photos by Annie Leibowitz for Vogue, I especially love the first and the last one.

In the pictures below my grandparents say goodbye to some friends in Germany before leaving for Norway and a new life here. My grandparents are in the right window. I think the year is 1953.

The poem "Time Tested Beauty Tips" was one of Audrey Hepburn's favourite poems, and she used to read it to her sons. The author is Sam Levenson who wrote it for his grandchild.

Latest finds
I've had the 'I've got nothing to wear' feeling a lot lately and the January sale is a great opportunity to get some new stuff without spending all my money on it! The high waist trousers (which are really comfortable) and the yellow cardigan (I need more colour in my wardrobe!!) are from H&M and only cost 50 kr (£5). I found the suspender belt at Lindex for 75 kr and the three pairs of stockings (they're seamless ones from the 1960s) I got from a charity shop for 10 kr each.
